About Cathy, the instructor: Cathy caught the yoga bug in her teen years and completed her first teacher training at a Baptiste affiliate studio in 2014. Prior to that, she received her 600 hour comprehensive Pilates certification so you can expect core work infused in the practice. Most recently Cathy completed her 300 hour in Ayurveda and loves to invite in the 5 elements and incorporate yoga philosophy throughout her classes. She offers various modifications and applications. You can expect a lot of cuing on breath (as she believes this is the foundation of the practice), alignment, and hands-on assists. Apart from yoga, Cathy holds an M.ED in Counseling and Development from George Mason University and has experience working as a Mental Health Counselor and as a Stress-Management Professor at George Washington University.
