Frequently Asked Questions
Caboose Brewing Company was formed in October 2013 and opened in May 2015 in Vienna, Virginia by two local families, the McLaughlins and the Greers. The name "Caboose" is a nod to the W&OD railroad line, which has since been repurposed as the premier bike and trail path in the area. The trail runs along the back of our building. Our Head Brewer, Justin Weems, has been with us since the very beginning, he was promoted in November of 2017. Our Executive Chef, James Marroquin, was previously the Executive Chef at Sonoma Restaurant & Wine Bar and at Stanton & Greene on Capitol Hill. Our food is locally sourced, humanely raised, thoughtfully prepared, and served in a community setting. Caboose is the first and only brewery operating in Vienna, and the closest brewery located along the W&OD trail. We can't wait to see you soon!
What’s up with the seating?
We are truly sorry that we don’t have more seats, but we make do with what we have. We are both a brewery and a high-quality restaurant, and given the demand for both our food and drinks, we provide our seated tables for our dining customers. We highly recommend that you make reservations to secure your table.
I heard you now offer valet parking, is that true?
Yes! We have listened to our customers and considered their many suggestions surrounding our limited parking issue. We have decided to offer valet parking Thursday through Sunday evenings to ensure a stress-free night out at Caboose. All you have to do is show up to our location during dinnertime and our parking team will assist you.
Where can I park?
Currently, we are limited in how many parking spots we have available to our customers for a number of rules associated with our location. The map below shows the available parking locations near Caboose Brewing Co, though if you want to see a Google Maps version that you can span out from or plug into your phone, click here. We are doing our best to find a solution to gain access to more parking and are sorry for the inconvenience it has caused. We have also planned to ensure that our second location, opening in the Mosaic District, will be much more parking friendly. If you have any ideas on how to help us improve this situation for our customers, we would love to hear your thoughts at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What if I want to bike or walk to Caboose?
There is a parking lot about 1000 feet from Caboose, and we are located at mile marker 12 along the W&OD trail. Feel free to park there and then bike, skateboard, rollerblade, crawl or simply walk to us.
What is the food like?
Our farm-to-table menu is locally sourced, featuring seasonal ingredients. We wish everything could be offered year round, but because of our commitment to environmental sustainability this means that we instead add new menu items as they become available, and old items make a reappearance when they are back in season.
Is there an outdoor patio?
Yes! Our outdoor patio is full-service, though seating is limited and is often standing room-only. We encourage you to make reservations inside if you would like to guarantee that your party gets seating.
How can I make reservations?
You can currently make reservations through our website here. We highly recommend this, because our seating is limited and often fills up quickly.
Can I have a private event here?
We would love to host your next private party or corporate event! Visit our private events page here to learn more about your options and to start the planning process.
Can I purchase a keg for a party?
Heck yes, you can! You can reserve a keg here.
Does Caboose Brewing Company support the community?
Absolutely! Caboose Brewing Company is committed to contributing to charitable organizations in our community. Once a month, we sponsor a "Dining for Dollars" event which allows us to donate 5% of our profits (food sales only) for the evening to a charitable organization. We also sponsor many organizations in the area (check out the list here). We love being a part of the Vienna community and seek out any opportunity where we can support. If you would like us to learn more about how we can help your organization or cause, please apply here.
What are your plans for expansion?
We are opening a new location in the Mosaic District in Merrifield. The space will be much larger, with an indoor area of roughly 6,000 square feet and an outdoor biergarten spanning roughly 3,000 square feet. For those of you who would like to drink beer and cider, and eat other food in a similar but slighly more casual and larger environment, this will be your place. We are currently in the construction process and plan to open in winter.
Are pets allowed?
Vaccinated, friendly, and leashed dogs are welcome outside, just not inside the building. Per Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) law, pets must remain outside at all times. According to VDACS guidelines, dogs must be kept on a leash or within a pet carrier and under the control of their owner at all times. Aggressive pets will not be permitted on the patio. Please clean up after your pet, so others can enjoy the patio as well. Water bowls are provided - please let staff know if water needs to be refilled. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!
What is the location/atmosphere like?
We are a rustic industrial brewpub located in the town of Vienna, VA, right off the lush Washington & Old Dominion trail. We freshly brew beer carefully crafted with experience and creativity. Our menu is locally and thoughtfully sourced featuring seasonal ingredients. We pride ourselves in having a community atmosphere to provide a pleasant place for everyone.
Is there merchandise/swag for purchase?
We have a wide variety of shirts, glassware, and more available for purchase. We're always adding new items, so keep an eye out for new Caboose swag.
Is Caboose Brewing Co. family friendly?
Caboose is entirely family friendly. In fact, we wanted to create a place where families could go grab a drink and not have to leave anyone behind at home. We welcome visitors of all ages to our brewery. Remember that anyone wishing to enjoy the beer samples following the tour must be over 21, with valid identification.
